The Burberry Prorsum Resort collection was shown in London on Tuesday.  It was a really lovely collection, with lots of textures and neutrals with fab accessories.  Here are my five top looks:

I want this! - Joy Mangano Huggable Hangers

I'm a bit of a closet organization junkie.  I swear I could clean and rearrange closets all day, every day.  Sick, right?  Anyway, I'm on the hunt for some new hangers and I've had my eye on these for a while now.  I'll admit I first saw them on HSN and I fell for them hook, line and sinker.  I picked up a pack of 5 shirt hangers a couple of weeks ago at Target and I have to say they are awesome!  Slim, sleek and velvety soft (clothes do not fall off).  I'm now wanting a closetful of these babies.  I will have to do that a little at a time.  Meanwhile, you can purchase them at Target stores or HSN (usually when she's on air they run really good specials).

My Take: Victoria Beckham casual chic

I'm going to try out a new series here starting today.   I'm calling it "My Take", it will feature an outfit I've put together that was inspired by a look I liked, tweaking it a bit to fit my style.  Here we go:

About two months ago I posted about how much I loved a look sported by Victoria Beckham.  I wanted to use items that I had (or similar ones) - grey tank (check), black blazer (similar, check), black TOMS (check).  I don't have the green cargos, but these by J.Crew popped up on my Shop It To Me weekly email and they are perfect (and obviously on sale).  I also threw in a couple of alternate shoe choices (though I love VB's heels, I can't rock those running after a toddler - LOL!).

Happy Weekend! (and new Nesting Newbies magazine out now!)

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!  I'm headed out to get my hair cut and *ahem* colored today for the first time in oh, a year.  I'm going to really chop it off, enough so that I can't just scrape it back into a ponytail all the time (sad, but true).

Bottega Veneta Resort 2011

Mega luxury without the flashy logos - that sums up Bottega Veneta.  The 2011 resort collection is no exception, very wearable, lots of black and to die for bags. That's why I love looking, and I can only look.  Hmmm, should I buy a BV handbag or a car?  Decisions, decisions.  On a side note, I went into their outlet store at Woodbury Common Outlets when I lived in NY and even at a major discount I couldn't get near anything.  I fell in love with this amazing fish print (better than it sounds) pullover blouse - simply beautiful - but it was $400, I don't even remember the original price - eeek!  Needless to say I had to pass, I still think about that blouse to this day.  Oh well, enough of that, here are the looks I liked (take note of the lime green and especially cobalt blue carrying over from Fall):

Love This! - Log Bowls

How amazing are these log bowls from Loyal Loot? I love the contrast of the rough bark outside with the super glossy interior. Beautiful colors too!

Who thought this was a good idea?

I got this lovely email in my inbox this morning:

Funny thing is, I was at Target Monday morning (buying diapers for the little one) and saw these on the shelf and about upchucked.  Yes, diapers printed to look like jeans.  This is my opinion, but I think they are just about the ugliest things I have seen.  I know it's hot in the summer, but how hard is it to throw a pair of shorts or bloomers on a kid?  Do we need to encourage diapers as outerwear in public (because you know people will just think these replace pants).  And Target, really I expect more from you.  Tacky!  What do you think?  Am I overreacting?

I want this! - Children's Clothing Keepsake Quilt

I've been purging a bit lately, anticipating a (hopefully soon) move.  I want to get rid of things we don't need or want anymore.  This includes lots of baby stuff  - and boy can you accumulate tons of do dads when you have a kid.  Most of the stuff I've already purged we hardly used.  We aren't planning on having another little one so I also am getting rid of things she's outgrown/finished using. 

The point of all this rambling is that I'm totally digging the idea of a quilt made out of the little one's outgrown clothes (the "sentimental" ones) that I decided to keep.  I went through her outgrown stuff about 4 months ago and honestly I thought it would be harder to purge - I kept hearing people say it was so difficult letting go of the clothing, so emotional.  Well, maybe I'm totally heartless, but I got rid of 95% of it without batting an eye (meanwhile, my Mother was with me and I think she cried more than I did).  But the question remained, what to do with the keepers?  I don't want to just keep them in a plastic storage bin forever, seems pointless.  So I thought and thought and decided that a quilt would be a useful and lovely keepsake.  Here are some images I found for inspiration:

Stella McCartney sweaters

I'm loving these knit sweaters from Stella McCartney (just slightly *ahem* out of my price range).  Grey seems to be the color for Fall, from fashion to home.  (can you believe I just mentioned Fall and Summer hasn't even arrived yet? sheesh)
